SOCIETY MEMBERS UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED awarding Zouhair Mardini and Mosiac Architecture a Founders Award for Historic Preservation of the 901 First Street Building at the Society’s meeting on August 12, 2009. (You may download a pdf copy of the resolution HERE.)
Mardini Company, the first floor business will be open for the Home Tour on September 20th, as well as, the law offices on the second floor, and a condo unit below that opens on to a deck at the rear of the building, which is built on the steep slope of Snohomish’s famous gulch.

Before and after rear view images of the two year project. Built entirely of wood at the turn of the century, the building was held in the air with shoring while a new foundation of concrete was constructed under it, then lowered down.
More about our 38th Annual Home Tour in our next post.

Email from Kathy Prince: [We are] very pleased about this selection. Mr. Mardini certainly did a wonderful job with this! Greg and I went to see it yesterday, purchase an item (as kind of a blessing on his new business), and then went to Mardini’s to congratulate him, and stayed to eat dinner there. Gotta loved this community!- Kathy
